Donate: Mother's Day

Growing up, Mother's Day always conjured up images of the dad coming upstairs with a breakfast tray of pancakes and orange juice for the mom. But being a mom now, I so cherish the notion of not just leaving it to the guys in our life to recognize the day but for us to toast each other for all of our daily struggles, juggles and hiccups.

The International Rescue Committee has a wonderful program where you can donate a lifesaving gift to a refugee in the name of a special mother (your own or your friend's). In addition to choosing a specific gift (ranging from blankets, to safe birthing kits to a year of schooling) they will match the dollar amount to support maternal health programs in Sierra Leone.
